Reading
In Freya Aswynns Principles of Runes, chapter 6, "Runes and Magic", read from the start of the chapter on p 117, to page 124 where the section "Soul-Lore" begins.
Aswynn confirms the point made in the previous lesson about the significance of the Norse gods to the runes. You might like to compare the descriptions of the gods she gives with those provided by King which you read last time.
Further Exercises
There were a quite captivating series of television advertisements in Britain for a cellular phone network in which people were asked to nominate a historical figure (such as Einstein, Martin Luther King etc) they wished they could have had a television conversation with and to explain what they would say. Of the gods you have met in this, or the previous lecture, you should choose one with whom to imagine a conversation. Why have you chosen this god? Do you admire them or perhaps you want to put something to them? Remembering you are speaking to a god, how do you see the tone of the conversation. Include at least 4 questions which you would ask them.
From the list of gods and goddesses in the exercises for the previous lecture choose one more god and one more goddess to research in the way you did before.
You have completed the exercises. Select the following link for the answers
