It is one year since this site was established to provide a permanent resource for anyone seeking information on the Viking/Saxon runic alphabet. The School is now an independent non profit-making organisation with major plans for the year ahead.
The site contains details of the history of the Elder Futhark, of the use of the runes on artifacts found in archaeological investigation, of the literature and mythology which includes them and guides to their divinatory and magical uses.
To facilitate the learning of the runes, a formal introductory course of lectures, plus self-administered tests, are available from the "Lessons" button opposite. Those looking for the answers to specific questions should try selecting "Topics", or perhaps "Search" to search the site for particular words.
