Mission and Vision StatementsThe School's mission and vision statements, as agreed by the Board in March 2001 are: MissionTo promote and support the study of the runes in all of their aspects, pursuing the undertaking and assistance of scholarship by utilising appropriate innovative means to provide high quality courses and information. VisionWe will build upon this time of renewed interest in alternative forms of spirituality, taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the New Age movement, but standing apart from it, never compromising our commitment to respect for the pagan heritage of the runes, or being afraid to explore modern ways to use them appropriately and effectively. Driven by our belief in standards, and finding innovative ways to utilise technology to present information, responding to the needs of students and runic scholars, we will devise an unparalleled range of courses and workshops and provide other required services. Grounded in ethical practice and dedication to academic credibility, we will develop a wide portfolio of income-generating activity to help the School achieve and maintain financial security. We will strive to inform others about the runes, to motivate and inspire them to follow their own academic studies and undertake personal investigations into the runes' magical power. Valuing and respecting the individual, encouraging debate and listening to alternative or controversial theories, offering support and assistance where we are able, acknowledging and rewarding effort, providing fair recompenses for services rendered, we will always conduct ourselves with honesty and probity. Working collaboratively with individuals and groups who share our aims and values, the School will work tirelessly to become and stay the foremost institution of runic scholarship.
