Rune Cards

Sending a Rune Card

Single runes have been applied as magic charms for centuries. Traditionally this was done through the wearing of a runic talisman. The sending of a rune virtual postcard is simply a modern way to direct the beneficial powers of a rune to someone. It is also a great way to express yourself so why not send a rune card to someone you care about? Follow the simple instructions to design a rune card. Once you have finished it, you will be shown a preview giving you the opportunity to make further changes, or if you are happy with it, to send an email to the recipient letting them know the card is available for their collection.

FIRST STEP: SELECT A RUNE
Choose which one of the twenty-four available runes you will display on your card, selecting using the radio buttons.By the side of each rune you will find some information about its meaning to help you decide. If you want to see a full size image of a rune, just click on it. You might want to do that before filling in any information on this page, just so you do not risk losing your work after returning from viewing the picture.

Fehu (Feoh)
This is a rune of success and material wealth. Do you know someone who is in need or money or perhaps help with their business, then this is the perfect rune to send them.
Uruz (Ur)
Always a rune of adventure and challenge, it offers strength and courage when someone feels in need of these
Thurisaz (Thorn)
When someone is surrounded by countless problems and feels under attack this rune which is defensive and supportive is a good one to send
Ansuz (Os)
A rune of communication. Is someone you know about to make a difficult presentation or interview. Send them Ansuz and boost their communicative skills.
Raido (Rad)
This is a rune of travel and transport which often marks new beginnings.Do you know someone going on holiday overseas? Send them this rune for a safe journey. It is also a good rune for someone needing to show leadership and take control of a situation.
Kenaz (Cen)
For anyone needing a self-confidence boost, this is an ideal rune. It can strengthen willpower and give insights. If you have a friend who is artistic or creative they would love this rune.
Gebo (Gyfu)
A rune of balance and relationships, it brings harmony. If you know someone who needs to restore the equilibrium in their life or is experiencing relationship problems, this is just the rune to send them.
Wunjo (Wynn)
Bringing joy and happiness, this rune ameliorates any life. It encourages empathy and fellowship. Sending it will carry joy to an individual or help a group bond and work together better.
Hagalaz (Haegl)
Ever a dramatic rune, it sweeps into a life forcibly overcoming obstacles and clearing the way for new growth. Sending this rune should be done with caution for it brings short term disruption, but leads ultimately to the removal of blockages and the attraction of positive influences
Naudhiz (Nyd)
The patron of lost causes, this rune gives the gift of fortitude and the ability to find those inner qualities in oneself which survival demands. If you know someone undergoing a harrowing experience or about to face a difficult situation, then this is the rune to send them to give them the resilience which will be required.
Isa (Is)
This rune slows any situation, enclosing events in its icy grip. It bring peace and calm to volatile scenes. Perhaps you might like to send it to someone who has let their emotions get out of control
Jera (Ger)
A rune of harvests, it has the power to bring events to a culmination or change things for the better.
Eihwaz (Eoh)
Always a rune of endings it can help solve problems or bring events to a climax. If you know someone trying to give up smoking, try sending them this rune.
Pertho (Peorth)
The rune of mystery, it holds many fates in its grasp. It relates to secrets, to the solving of problems and to luck and gambling. If you know someone searching for a lost object or about to enter a risky venture, they would probably benefit from receiving this rune.
Algiz (Eohl)
Purely and simply a rune of protection, it brings support and defense. If you want to keep someone safe from harm, send them this rune.
Sowelu (Sigil)
This is a rune of light and success. It bring vitality and good health. Anyone can benefit from the presence of this rune in their life.
Tiwaz (Tir)
A rune relating to order and justice. It helps to maintain faith and uphold honor. Thus it is ideal for anyone involved in a legal dispute.
Berkana (Beorc)
The rune of fertility and motherhood, it offers new starts and a beneficial healing influence. For someone trying for a baby or recovering from an operation, this may be just the rune to send them.
Ehwaz (Eh)
It is a rune of partnership and changes, a rune that gets things moving. This is one to invoke to find the means to solve a problem or encourage co-operation.
Mannaz (Man)
Relating to social ordering and the power of the mind, this rune unleashes the force of the intellect and aids social integration. If you know someone who has yet to realize their potential or is having trouble bonding with others, this could be the rune to send them.
Laguz (Lagu)
Very much linked with the unconscious mind and intuition, this rune aids the manifestation of psychic powers and is ideal to send to any student of divination or the occult.
Inguz (Ing)
A rune of fertility it reflects the bounteous power of nature. Associated with harvests it can end a cycle of events. It also promotes fertility and sensual pleasure.
Dagaz (Daeg)
This is a rune of new beginnings whose power so changes a life that things can never be the same again. It brings revelations and transformation, offering fresh opportunities and comfort. If you know someone in need of a dramatic change in their luck, send them this rune.
Othala (Ethel)
The rune of heritage, it relates to family, home and nation. It is a good one to send someone experiencing family problems or buying a new home.

Using the two selectors, choose the colors for your text and background. Take care in your selection as not all combinations work well together.

Now enter a title, such as "Hi Baby", or "Good Luck With the New Job" which will be shown in large text at the top of the card

SIXTH STEP: ENTER YOUR MESSAGE

Into the box below enter the text of your message. If you know HTML then feel free to insert tags to give added emphasis, otherwise just type text normally.

SEVENTH STEP: SIGN YOUR CARD

Finally choose a way to sign off your card which you type into the box below. Your name will be automatically added to the end of the signature line you choose. Examples are

  • Bright Blessings
  • With Love
  • Best Wishes

FINAL STEP: PREVIEW CARD OR START AGAIN
You can now see what your card looks like by clicking the PREVIEW button below. If you don't like it and want to clear the form and start again select REDO-CARD. The card will not be finalized and a notification sent until you press SEND-RUNE-CARD on the preview screen.
